North American Van Lines Reviews - NW 53rd Ave, Gainesville, FL

It?d be best if you had the original box as it is already appropriate fitted for the exact dimensions of your monitor. There ought to be Styrofoam inserts in the original box for this express purpose. Also, make note of the conditions of your belongings so that you have something to refer to once your belongings have been transported to your new home. Other than a rental truck, you can do everything else on your own, right. While this may be the case for those who don?t have families and large amount of items to transport, those who do may need to look into Moving Companies for assistance. By going through a professional moving service, you can insure that they?ll load and deliver your goods without any fear of mishandling, and you can always compare estimates to get the best deal out there. Packing Heavy Items There are a few things you should keep in mind when you're packing items that weigh more than thirty pounds. Firstly, the box you're using should be of a stronger quality with seams that are either stitched or stapled. To prevent crushing or shifting, invest in corrugated or molded foams to protect your heavier belongings instead of packing paper or peanuts. Heavy cushioning could mean the difference between seeing your items safely home and finding them damaged after you unpack. The additional services it offers, such as storage, packing and unpacking allow you to get to your new home as quickly and efficiently as possible. However, if you're moving on a budget, there are a few things you'll need to keep in mind regarding your North American Van Lines rate. North American Van Lines

Optimum Pricing - Our company structure minimizes administrative time and efforts which combined with corporate rates and discounts can result in substantial cost savings to your company. Protection Plans - Because homeowner's policies typically do not cover goods in transit, we offer a range of protection plans, from coverage based on load weight through full replacement value. North American Van Lines, Fort Wayne, Indiana Complaints ...

Since my company was paying for a small portion of the relocation expenses, I was forced to get quotes from several different Moving Companies - North American Van Lines (NAVL) was the lowest. But the old adage, "You get what you pay for, " is all too real for us after dealing with NAVL. To start off with, the NAVL rep who came to do the initial quote missed a piece of artwork that had to be "special crated" for the move. She also missed the same piece when she came 4 weeks later to do the final quote. We had two quotes done since we had gotten rid of some furniture between the first quote and the actual move, so NAVL insisted on a second walk-thru of the inventory in order to generate an accurate quote. When the 3rd party crating company came to crate the special, fragile items, they informed us that there were only 6 pieces that had been authorized for crating but there were 7 pieces that needed crating. We were told the 7th item could be crated but it would cost us an additional $50 COD for the crating. It was also going to be an additional $20 to uncrate this unauthorized item at the destination. Our moving day was set and we were told to expect a phone call 24-48 hours before the actual move day so that they could give us a window of time when the Movers would be arriving for the move. The next morning, 30 minutes before the movers arrived, our Customer Service Coordinator called us and said, "They are on the way. In greeting them, only one was wearing and actual "NAVL" shirt - the other two were wearing typical street clothes. These movers were uneducated, unmotivated and clearly uninterested in the task at hand. My pulse started to race as I knew we were about to engage in a HUGE mistake by putting the contents of our entire house into the hands of these three individuals. Watching the movers walk around with the "deer in the headlights" look, it was clear that these guys had no organizational skills and clearly had no idea how they were going to pack our belongings into the van. I watched in complete horror as our leather sofa and leather chair were "squeezed" through our front door completely unwrapped. I realize that some doorways are only so big and our leather chair is an overstuffed one - but it was brought in without any damage and should be brought out the same way. The rest of the move did not go any better, as there was absolutely NO CARE given to our belongings as they were removed from our home before being put into the van: Walls nicked, stairwells were scratched, door frames were gauged and dinged. We knew we would find damaged boxes and furniture when it was all delivered. These "professionals" treated our home and our belongings with not one ounce of care. In fact, we spent almost two hours after the van pulled away patching up gauges and dings in door frames, repainting walls that had been carelessly marked up and filling in dents and scratches in stairwells. Our Customer Service Coordinator had informed us that on the date of the move, the driver would be able to give a pretty accurate date of when everything would be delivered. Before the van pulled away, we asked the driver when we might possibly expect our belongings to arrive at their destination. On the 8th day, I took the initiative and contacted him and asked him where things stood with the delivery. He also asked if I could give him directions to our address from the city of his last delivery. I gave the drive the major highways and route #s to get him from point A to point B. On the morning of the delivery, the driver called again to say he was 18 miles away but needed detailed directions to get to our place. I asked him if he had a GPS and he responded, "No". I told him he might want to invest in one for the future, given the line of work he was in. Again, the movers appeared unmotivated and uninterested. The forecast for move-in day was a mixture of clouds and heavy showers, off and on, all day. Realizing he did not have enough help for the unloading, he actually asked one of the residents in our building, who just happened to be walking by, if he could lend a hand for a little while and help them unload the van. He offered to pay the kid $40 and the kid agreed to help. I was grateful for the additional hand, but I did NOT hire NAVL to outsource help with unloading because they did not have enough help. On top of that, we realized it was taking a long time to get our belongings in once they were being removed off the van. My partner and I jumped into action and played "movers" for the next 5 hours. So not only were we paying NAVL to move us, but we, the customer, were also assisting with the physical labor of the move. If I had known all of this beforehand, I would have simply rented a U-Haul and done this entire move ourselves. Instead, we were assisting with the physical labor of unloading the van - a job that we had hired NAVL to do. Both arrived with scratches and scuffmarks on the arms and backs of them that are now permanent. As were accounting for every box and piece of furniture, we realized that we were missing one dining room table leg and one of the slats that go to the frame of our platform bed. The driver ensured us that they must still be somewhere in the truck. We were told that they ended up unloading the truck "backwards" so some of the pieces that were packed together got separated as they were trying to organize the contents of the truck to be unloaded. Ironically - every single box we personally packed for the move, and aside from one pilsner glass, everything WE packed arrived with NO breaks or damageThe movers offered to help us put the bed and the dining room table back together before leaving. Upon bringing the mattress into the bedroom to place on the bed frame, the small dolly they used to wheel the mattress in, "flipped" up when the mattress was pushed off from it and put a small dent into our newly painted hallway. When the dining room table was having its legs reattached, one of the movers (who probably weighs 230 lbs) actually used one of the legs as a brace to actually lifted himself off the ground and onto his feet. I could just picture that leg snapping in half from the weight of his body. The movers were about to leave before I stopped them. They were actually going to leave without us checking off each item on the invoice to make sure that it had been accounted for and delivered. When they left, we were completely mortified - we have NEVER had a more unpleasant experience in our lives. Moving across country is stressful enough, but this experience was simply inexcusable and unprofessional. When I asked about other "Customer satisfaction compensation", I was told I would have to contact Customer Service at the headquarters. After being bounced around for 40 minutes from one NAVL representative to another, I was finally put in touch with a woman named Sandy Marlowe. I began discussing with Sandy the experience we had with NAVL, beyond the physical damages, and was looking for some type of compensation for the non-physical damages that we were put through (ie. Sandy was unhelpful and said I would have to fill out the online claim form any physical damage that occurred. As far as any other type of compensation, "We would not get any. I asked to speak with her direct report so that someone would listen to the experiences we encountered that we honestly felt were deserving of some type of compensation. Sandy, turns out, is the direct assistant to the president of NAVL, Michael Wolf. Wolf and, again, Sandy refused to put me in touch with him. If the direct assistant to the President of my company EVER spoke to a customer the way Ms. Marlowe spoke to me, you can be damn sure he/she would be standing in the unemployment line. I have since begun the online claim for the damaged items, but after reading SEVERAL consumer reviews for NAVL, I am not confident that I will EVER see a dime. And as for the other compensation that I feel we are entitled to. I figure at this point, disputing the charges might get the attention of someone other than Ms. North American Van Lines

July 2011 09:26 With a move in your future, you might be tempted to go out and purchase all new furniture. But, just think about all of the money you could save if you found a way to just want to spiff your old decorations and furniture. Consider what new items you will need and make a list. Then use the tips below in order to save big bucks on your next move:Look for things secondhand. You just give HeyCraig keywords to search for, and it will e-mail you when it finds something that matches the keywords you entered. Often you can find items that just need a little creative TLC to be great. Find a pair of mismatched lamps, and paint them the same color to use in the same room. Buy old frames and spray paint them all the same color. You can hang the frames without pictures in a grouping of different sizes and shapes. Add a splash of color to the living room by recovering old pillows with a bold print. Look in remnant bins at fabric stores for upholstery fabric that is marked down. Cover an ottoman with a simple slipcover to change the focal point of a room. Take a piece of plywood and cover it with cotton batting and fabric to make a headboard for your bed. Stack up 4 antique suitcases, leaving the top one open. July 2011 04:56 From the new home costs to the packing materials, moving expenses can add up quickly. If you’ve packed up your kitchen and have to eat out for every meal, you will have yet another expense. Below are a few ideas for saving a little money on food while moving. Restaurants such as Fazoli’s and Steak ‘n Shake have kids eat free nights where there is often a craft or activity for the kids as well. This is a daily e-mail promoting deals at your local restaurants. You can buy coupons at a discount, such as $20 for $40 worth of food. Since you might not have access to all of your kitchen items, make foods that can be put together without much prep work. Visit your deli and buy meats and cheeses to make big sandwiches to share. Serve store-bought potato salad and pre-cut veggies and dip. Buy a pre-washed salad mix and pre-cooked chicken strips. Pile on the veggies and serve with various salad dressings. Before you start packing, think ahead by freezing meals. Make a large quantity of hearty soups, such as chili, and freeze in small containers. When someone needs a meal they can just microwave a personal-sized container. Make a veggie pizza with canned biscuit dough, cream cheese, and pre-cut veggies like broccoli, cucumber, carrots and cauliflower. Don’t forget to have plenty of bottled water out, since cups will be packed away. Include silverware for each person, paper plates, cups, bowls, and a can opener. Plan for your first meal such as pasta and canned pasta sauce. June 2011 06:44 Any Real Estate agent will tell you to pay attention to the all important curb appeal factor when selling a home. Poor landscaping alone can cause a person to drive by without a second look, while great landscaping can get someone in the door and – before you know it – you’re calling a moving company. Small things can make all the difference, and can be done on a budget. Be sure to pick-up any piles of brush that have accumulated over time. Your grass won’t dry out and be as susceptible to weeds. Edge the sidewalks and remove growth from the cracks. Remember to trim any tree limbs that are close to the house. Separate overgrown perennials and move extra plants to a visible spot near the front door. Ornamental grasses are eye catching and grow quickly. Consider a water feature, or some other focal point for the yard. Place a comfortable bench under a tree with a birdhouse. It not only keeps weeds from growing, but will also give your yard a landscaped, manicured look. You want someone to be able to imagine themselves in your backyard, so anything miscellaneous should be stowed away. Allied Van Lines

Moving & Packing Tips: Moving Appliances | North American Van ...

Grease left on a stovetop will catch dust and dirt in your shipment, and leave spots on anything it touches. Dry out refrigerators and freezers before moving, especially those with an icemaker. Don't Forget Remember to turn off or unplug any appliance before preparing, cleaning,or servicing. Leave the door open for a few days prior to moving. Wrap dry hoses in towels and packing paper and place inside the dishwasher. Wrap metal connector ends of hoses in a towel and place inside washer before moving. Secure the tub following the manufacturer's guidelines to prevent swaying. Note: If you don't have the manufacturer's guidelines, you can purchase a washer kit with a manual that provides instructions on how to secure the tub by tightening down the tub using screws. If you prefer not to do it yourself, there are many third party service providers. Upon arrival to your new home, have the washer installed by a qualified installer. Clothes Dryer Before cleaning, unplug or turn off the dryer from electrical power. Prior to plugging in your electric dryer at your new residence, have your power supply checked for the correct electrical requirements. If you are moving a gas dryer, the appliance should be disconnected and the gas line capped off prior to moving by a qualified technician. The driver and the Movers are not qualified to perform this service. Detach all removable parts and pack safely in a box, clearly marked with the contents. If you are moving a gas range, it must be disconnected prior to moving by a qualified service technician. If you have an electric range, generally no servicing at your present residence is required. When arriving at your new residence with your gas range, you will need a qualified gas installer to check your gas supply, connect the gas line, seal any openings, light the pilot, and handle any other hook-up requirements. Unplug the power cord, wash all removable parts, and dry thoroughly. Allow the parts and the including the interior of the refrigerator and freezer, to dry thoroughly prior to moving to allow all moisture to evaporate. Pack all loose parts including bins and shelves in a secured, approved container for moving. Empty and clean the evaporator pan; allow time for it to dry. Before moving, turn off the water and disconnect the water line if you have a cold water dispenser or automatic icemaker. This will allow time for the oil to settle, preventing damage to the compressor. If your refrigerator or freezer is an older model, you may have to have the compressor or motor bolted down while moving. Have icemaker and water dispenser connected to water line by a professional. Copper tubing, a shut off valve and fittings may be required. Move Tip Once your icemaker is in service, dispose of the first few batches of ice to clear out any impurities from the water line. Microwave Oven Glass trays should be removed, wrapped, and securely packed in a moving carton. The microwave can be placed in its original box, if available and still in good shape, or in a well-cushioned moving carton. If your microwave is large, ask your Moving Company if it can be pad-wrapped on moving day. Do not place cardboard in the door opening because it can spring the door during transit. Take care not to block the exhaust vent when installing it at your new home. The delivery driver was very personable and made sure everything was going well. Reviews for ALLIED VAN LINES - Moving Companies Reviews, Get ...

The move from MI to CA went smooth from the move out to the move in. Allied Van Lines Kind, considerate, caring, honest are just a few of the words to describe this company. The quote was right on, no extra charges and not one, NOT ONE, item broken or damaged from a three bedroom home. On 6/20 I call Allied only to find out that my goods are still in storage in NC. I am also told that they do not have a delivery date and do not have a truck to pick up the load. After 4 phone calls to Allied and posting on their facebook page, I have been given a delivery date of 6/30. I am living in and will continue to pay rent in an empty house and have a very unhappy 3 year old who doesn't understand why we have to sleep on the floor nor does he understand why the Movers have all his things. Allied has offered me compensation that is an absolute joke for what they have put my family through. I will make sure that all my friends and family know not to use Allied for their future moving needs. He didn't tell us we had to write what's inside of each box, gave us wrong border paperwork, didn't follow the few requets we had and was awful. Our Moving Quote was accurate and in the end there were no hidden charges from the moving company. The driver didn't have enough room to take all the items, so our shipment was split up. The second moving group loaded the rest of our goods as well as items that were specifically labeled as do not load including some flammables. The second load was sent to a warehouse where multiple items were misplaced and lost. The flammables that were mistakenly loaded, namely an empty propane tank, were not delivered and were probably just thrown away. We still havent received our claim check and are pretty confident we never will. We read all the Moving Company reviews and decided on Allied Van Lines based on what we read. The Moving Truck was clean and the movers did a wonderful job with our things. Out of all the moves we completed this was the best performed by far. Allied always does a good job for us and even provides moving discounts for military families. I personally love the customer service that Allied Van Lines have displayed during each of our moves. In the end it cost me more but from what I am able to see in all these reviews is that it was well worth it. Cant say enough good things about the service provided and would recomend them to anyone. The move was handled well and the crew seemed very capable in their work. They had to have an inventory of my items and even though I didn't know how many boxes I would end up packing, my sales rep, told me I could give her that information later and she estimated a box count for me in my estimate. I was even able to give her an actual box count the day BEFORE my move and she readjusted my price. When the movers arrived, ON TIME, Michael the foreman introduced himself and explained everything to me. He was very professional and the movers worked quickly and efficently. I was told it would take up to 14 days to receive my items, but 2 days after my items were picked up, I called and they told me my items were being shipped in 2 days and within 7 days total I had my items. Pre-Move Prep I initially had someone from Allied visit my apartment and give me a written quote on the cost of my move. While it wasn't the lowest quote, I thought the Allied broker was the most organized and professional. They also have a good website for tracking your shipment (if you need that) and providing a lot of information on the moving process. The representative also offered packing services, additional insurance, and special packing instructions for unique items to be moved, but I did not need any of that. Moving Day A few days before moving day no one had contacted me from the moving company. I called the rep who had visited my apartment and he confirmed the move date and time. That same day I also got a mail confirmation of the move. In hindsight it seems like they were cutting it close with the follow-up. My movers arrived on time but could not find my apartment. This caused some confusion since I went outside looking for the big, orange Allied Van Lines truck and here they were on the complete opposite side of the apartment complex. Once we connected they quickly went to work moving my stuff out and into the truck. One big advantage to hiring a professional mover is having them dismantle and re-assemble beds, which they did without batting an eye. Also, they laid down some cardboard to protect the carpet and flooring. They were a bit rougher getting my stuff wedged into the apartment elevator, but I had everything packed really securely. The guys moving my stuff worked quickly and efficiently. They found my house I was moving to (less than 12 miles away) and went to work unloading the truck after laying down more protecting layers on the floors. They were also good about putting the stuff in the right rooms. Paying I was initially told that I needed a cashiers check to pay for the quoted amount, or if using a credit card it had to be approved 72 hours in advance. I went with the cashiers check, but since the movers worked quicker than expected the final price was actually more than $100 cheaper . However, I didn't want to mess with trying to get a refund so I dashed to the bank, voided the cashiers check, and got cold, hard cash to make the payment. I wish I had known ahead of time I could have just paid them in cash. Nothing was broken, they arrived on time, and the final price was lower than quoted. My only complaints are some communication issues the day of the move, not knowing I could pay the driver in cash, and the confirmation of the move coming just 4 days before the actual move date. But those are small potatoes compared to many moving complaints so I'll rate them as a solid 4 stars and recommend. When you are forced to take all of your belongings and put them into a large truck it can be a harrowing experience. As someone who is completing his second move in a little over one year, I can vouch for the fact that moving is a very stressful undertaking. Choosing the right moving company can be crucial to your success or failure in the moving process. I always prefer to go with a national company as opposed to â??Two Guys and a Truckâ?? (which is actually the name of a local company in our area. The national companies usually have reputations to protect, and are able to provide much better information on the front end. Allied gave us a competitive price and showed great efficiency in providing our price quotes and other decision-making data. I was pleased with their customer service representative as well, as was my wife. Based on the information we had, we decided that Allied was the best choice for our move. Now that moving day has come and gone, I have no regrets about my choice. The Allied personnel did a very good job in handling our materials and transporting them to our storage unit in the new city. Our movers took their time, and showed great care for our furniture and other belongings. These men were very efficient, and their prior experience showed. The driver (and head of the crew) was able to simply walk through the house one time and see exactly how the items needed to be loaded into the truck. They would take a cabinet from one room, a dresser from another, etc. At first we wondered why they would not take an entire room at a time, but once we saw what they were doing in the truck we understood. This crew made very good use of the space available. We have several pieces of furniture that are very heavy to us, but these guys did not even struggle with it. Things that would have taken two of us were easy for one of these men to move by himself. As I sat and watched them work, I was glad that I was not doing any heavy lifting myself. This is something we did not do in our last move, and I can honestly say that it was time well spent. Knowing where our things were in the boxes made us feel a little better about putting our stuff into storage for a few months. The movers told us that we had packed things very well, making their job easier. In fact, one of them told us that we should have rented a truck and just moved ourselves and saved a whole lot of money. But the Allied folks made our move very easy, which makes the cost money well spent. Before loading up, the Allied Movers made very detailed notes about what pieces of furniture were scratched or damaged before the move. This allowed them to check everything coming out and make sure that they had not done any damage while in transit. The crew examined all of our items very closely, and even double-checked against their list and with us to make sure that nothing had been damaged. I could tell that these fellows took their job very seriously, and wanted to see that we were happy with the results, and that our belongings were well taken care of. I know that these companies have separate management for each branch, and that all Allied Moving offices may not be as good as this one. Compared to other movers that I have used, this group did a fantastic job. We were very pleased with their courteous personnel, their emphasis on customer service, and their willingness to ensure our satisfaction. I would recommend this company without reservation to anyone planning an upcoming move. Allied will take away some of the stress of the process â?? and save you some back pain as well. Dale Morgan more than answered our questions about the process, giving us the confidence to proceed with this long distance move. We had the best moving team ever headed up by driver, Ramon. In March 2009, he, his son, & the team did the best job packing our belongings, protecting our furniture & then unloading to a storage space, even in the midst of personal tragedy. All three quoted very similar prices; all three sent representatives out to survey our household goods. We were moving 6,915 pounds of stuff, which included a glass coffee table, lots of Electronics and a Honda Civic. I asked for a not to exceed price, and was quoted $3900. Turns out a "not to exceed price" is different than a "not to exceed or less" - our price was guaranteed, and they don't even bother weighing the truck. That's fine with me, but the vocabulary is a little confusing. The packers were very courteous, quick and efficient. They showed up on time, asked permission to open doors, use the bathroom, get water, etc. They packed our entire house in less than four hours. The shippers came the next day; they were about one hour later than the expected time, but called to say they were going to be late. Our glass table was crated up by a third party company (amazing - they build a full-fledged crate out of 2x4s in the driveway). We drove our Honda to the office, as their assistant shipper didn't know how to drive standard. In Savannah, our shipment was scheduled for a three day window; it showed up on the first day. The driver got his 18 wheeler down an absurdly thin, southern street, and so no shuttle charge on this end either (although i bet the neighbors were mad. The crew on this end was extremely exhausted, having just moved someone in at Jacksonville, driven for a few hours, and then was going to Atlanta after our stop. As our boxes began showing up, we scrambled to keep tally on the inventory list; it's hard to keep up with them, but we managed. In the end, one lamp (about a hundred bucks) was snapped in half, and the driver was VERY apologetic about it; a few wine glasses were shattered, and . Turns out the car never made it on the truck in the first place, and the three boxes were lost. Allied offered to rent us a car, deliver it to our house, and pick it up again; we declined, because we were enjoying walking around Savannah. The boxes, on the other hand, are missing in action :( But fully insured, and a claim is in process, and our representative in Austin is very good about following up with us about the status. The civic arrived three days later on a third party van line. Everyone was NOT "out to screw us" - in fact, everyone was very professional. The lost items are disappointing but replaceable, and the car wasn't a big deal, and they offered to help us out with it. My advice, other than what everyone has already posted here (such as videotaping your move, ensuring a visual weight based quote, etc) - get a few friends together for "move in day" to help checking boxes off the list. They move so quick, its hard to keep up, and in the end, its a reaaal pain to figure out what is really missing. The driver went out of his way to help with the delivery. We had 4,000 lbs and only moved to North Carolina but these guys where awesome. Ellen, a salesperson from North Coast Moving and Storage, called me back and after our discussion, sent me an estimate for 2000lbs and one for 3000lbs (I thought I'd be somewhere between the two). Her rates for the move were great, compared to the other big namers (United, Atlas) I've spoken with so far. She was also able to send me a truck asap, since I called her on Oct 6th 08 and was leaving Orlando by Oct 14th. I felt very comfortable speaking with her unlike some of these folks I've spoken with recently. She passed me over to Laurel, an operations manager, who was also great and was very professional. I checked out North Coast via the internet, and they have been around for 30+ years and had only 1 complaint listed on BBB and FMCSA. So, my stuff made it to my new house in Redmond today, on time and undamaged. They were all very professional, took great care of all my stuff (wrapped, padded, etc), and worked fast. First class service with people that really care about their clients. More One of the largest and most consistently successful moving and storage operations in Colorado and Utah.

North American Van Lines Complaints - Moving company rip off

The quote was competitive out of the 6 mvoing companies I had considered. Part of the contract was to store my household items till I found my new home in MI. When the move took place Rainbow showed its true color; guranteed price quote was a ploy to get business, the actual bill of lading was a good 25 % higher. When I argued they simply started blaming North American Van Lines, the principal, for the revision and never got down to explain why they singed on a guaranteed quote. I was desperate having signed to take possession of the new house and I had no choice but to accept. Our carpet cleaning went through the window to accomodate the unfriendly driver. Rainbow Movers is a rip off, unfriendliest and inconsiderate Moving Company one should be wary off. Every single piece of furniture either gouged or broken. Kitchen stuff-expensive pots and pans and appliances gone. We paid an extra thousand for insurance and have not collected a penny after 2 years. We have paid dearly twice over of the mistake of using these horrible movers. They can easily post their own favorable reviews so beware. If a customer is given a Guaranteed Price, neither Rainbow Movers or NAVL can legally charge more money as described above with a few exceptions. For example, if your Guaranteed Price was for a specific period of time for storage and you exceed that period, than yes you have to pay for the actual of amount of time you need storage. Allied Van Lines Filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and Delivered My ...

I was a commercial customer of Allied Movers who was shippinghundreds of thousands of dollars of products with it, so I understand how itoperates inside and out. Allied Movers Allied Van Lines progressively became very late onshipments, started failing to pay back damaged claims, thereby ripping peopleoff, and Moving Allied began losing and damaging my products at a very obscenerate. If you are thinking about hiring Allied Moving for your home move, thinkagain. In fact, wemust start a movement to have Allied Vans shutdown. This company already has dozens of complaints already on the heavilyrated Consumer Affairs account. Read them and you'll see why you shouldn't use Movers Allied. In fact, Allied Movers wasthree weeks late for the pick-up dates, then usually more than 2 weeks late onthe actual delivery time. In fact, Allied Vans acts like a corrupt politician everyoneknows is guilty of criminal acts. The company works with third party agents who very likely stealgoods. Allied Vans has no control over these third parties whatsoever. I havemany photos of products damaged by forklifts, yet AlliedMovers takes no responsibility for Moving Allied actions, refusing to payyou back for its mistakes. They deliberately delay returning e-mails, phone calls or snail mailfor unreasonable periods of time. The company claims to be a "white glove" company thatdelivers on time and with great care and effort. However, I discovered that, once an item is close to its destination, it is passed off to the third-rate,incompetent agents who do not know how to deliver anything. After moving Allied delivered our products over a monthlate, we disputed the bill it gave us for an outrageous sum. While our dispute occurred, Allied Van Lines held ourinventory worth over tens of thousands of dollars, refusing to deliver any ofit. As a result, we lost the order income we should have gotten. Allied Movers shipped them to customers with only one ofthe parts included. The error cost my company many cancellations and producedangry customers. AlliedMoving Company admitted it made the mistake, claiming that a new warehouseemployee screwed up. This problem occurs because Allied Vans has many shippingagents who are third party companies – huge warehouses improperly trained tohandle your products. Even when you tell Allied Moving how to do it, it isimpossible for the company to pass those detailed instructions to its manycarriers. Yet even though Allied Van Lines admitted its mistakes, it stilldemanded I pay the full bill for incompetent shipping. They provide the worst customer service you can imagine andobviously do not care one whit about you or the items you've entrusted to them. I kept trying to get Allied Movers to make good on itspromises, but to no avail. And the customer service agents wouldn't do a thingto help. Some one needs to get a hold of this company and dosomething. This made it virtually impossible for these poorpeople to get their products where they wanted them to be. In fact, we had manycomplaints about this, yet were powerless to do anything about it. The driver wanted 450 extra to off load her when he couldhave gone in the back way of the apartment complex. He chose not to and wantedthis additional fee up front or her things would wind up in storage. Allied VanLines is a shady company – do not use it. My point is there all thiefs not just to customers but to the owner operators ( truck drivers ) that sub contract to them. Here's the problem they don't care about being taken to court. The laws are set up to protect them and hhey know driveres can't afford to hire an attorney. They take between 200$ and 7500$ escrow from drivers they say so when a driver quits it's there in case a claim comes in after they leave. They never give it back it's like a joke to them just like a customers complaint . I really don't know the answer but I know if I could find a laywer who knows about the moving industry there is a class action suit just waiting to be filed againstvthe whole industry . Having a Moving Company with a scale as acway to charge you, well you figure it out. There all in it together it might sound like a crazy accusation but it's all true they steal with impunity. The drug testing is a joke they call us and say( you have to do something by this date call when your ready)I'm as quilty as them so if a DA wants info I want imunity. They need to stop the way they treat people drivers included. Your stuff should be under protection though, right. This company really sucks but the insurer are more idiot that they still insuring transit goods from this company. I specifically told them not to put my card through until the move was completed. Throughout the move I made numerous calls to the office complaining about the move & the accused me of trying to get something for nothing. The manager, (who claimed to be President of the company), was rude beyond belief. They actually employed an ex-con & illegal immigrants to enter my house & literally rob me. I noticed things missing during the move, (2 Ipods still in the boxes),& the company did absolutely nothing when I brought this to their attention. When I was on active duty, (during my entire career in the Air Force), I never experienced a sham/move such as this.

North American Van Lines Reviews - Dahlia St, Denver, CO

If you don?t want to spend a lot of time taking apart your pool table, make sure to have a prepared path for the movers. Check to see if the path is clear by ridding anything that may be blocking the way. Also, pay attention to the walkway outside and make note if the sidewalk is broken, etc. One great precautionary measure you can take is by using bubble wrap to protect these items during transit. If you?re saving your bubble wrap for more fragile items, you can use hand towels to wrap them individually. The management most likely had pest control take care of any extra roommates after the last tenant left, but you can never be too sure if the pesticides are harmful to people. Get a dishrag and wipe inside your drawers and cabinets. We were told that if we packed some of the boxes they would reduce the estimated charge at the end of the move. The additional services it offers, such as storage, packing and unpacking allow you to get to your new home as quickly and efficiently as possible. However, if you're moving on a budget, there are a few things you'll need to keep in mind regarding your North American Van Lines rate. North American Van Lines
