If you have any concerns speak with the driver always. And speak out, try and prevent a problem if you can. One time I moved a household out of a trashy apartment and did not use floor protection. At the end of the day the Lady of the house pointed this out, and made me pay for her carpet. Keep the drivers cell phone number and let him/her know the second something arises. I have to hire, and cancel labor 24 hrs in advance. Let them know what you expect and what you want done. This is so important, If you have delicate items or anything high value point it out. If you complain to the office they will probably never relay that message back to the driver. Yes taking stuff apart is important however it is better if left to us unless you want to put it back together. Let us know as soon as you arrive at your destination weather the semi will make it down your road. And the most important part be organized at your origin. The Movers were unprofessional, they dropped items, packed artwork with sharp objects, and even did not move some items because the mover did not bring enough packing material (though their agent inventoried my house). As you will read below, my Sirva/NAVL re-weigh tickets were FAKE. NAVL I asked for the weight tickets proving the weight of 6220. The truck weighed 75K in the morning, the driver spent the day unloading a customers shipment THEN came to my location, picked up my shipment then weighed the truck, which then weighed 68K. Anybody with 1/2 a brain cell can see the fraud here. Of course I have confirmed with Cat scale that the tickets are indeed clearly marked with the time the truck was weighed. If the time is blocked out, you simply phone Cat Scale and they can look up the time in their computer. They have informed me in writing that the driver re-weighed my shipment after delivery and my shipment weighed 6500 lbs. I asked for and received copies of these weight tickets. All information on the ticket is accurate EXCEPT the weight of the truck. The truck weights in the Cat Scale computer system that apply to the tickets given to me as my re-weigh, makes my shipment 1000+ lbs, less than the 6500 scam weight they tried to lay on me. Cat Scale has requested I send them copies of the Fake weight ticket, so they can investigate. I hope all parties that are involved in this fraud and deception take a good look in the mirror, Yep, you, scammed me out of over $5000 Was it worth it.
