First, she was told her car would be loaded on the truck with her household goods, but the day before the moving day, she was told that the car would be shipped separately on a flat-bed truck & arrive a week after her household goods. When we tried to get clarification on this by leaving messages for her "moving consultant" and other people at the Las Cruces offices, we either got no return calls or just a "oh well" attitude (from the moving consultant. Although we did eventually reach someone to clarify the car situation, it was through our persistance; we never heard from our moving consultant again, despite his early assurances to my mother to call him if she had any problems. The real issues occurred upon arrival in Richmond, however. The driver informed my mother that his truck couldn't fit down her street (although Allied never mentioned this could be a problem to begin with) & moved the truck to an alternate location & hired a budget rental truck to do "shuttle" loads to her house . In addition, although we had a 4 person moving crew in Las Cruces, she only had a 2 person crew in Richmond (a man and his 16 yr. Consequently, the unloading process took from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm to complete. My mother placed repeated calls to the Las Cruces office and to her moving consultant to get assistance, but no one could help, and the moving consultant couldn't be reached. Needless to say, my family is totally dissatisfied with Allied. Run away from Allied Van Lines & be sure to tell anyone you know who might be moving to steer clear of this pitiful organization. Needless to say, we will be filing a complaint both to the local and corporate office. Allied Van Lines
