The Maine Spot

Portland, Maine has gotten a number of accolades lately. The largest city in the state, Portland was recognized as the “Most Livable City” in the nation in 2009 by Forbes.com. With a gorgeous coastal location, delicious food that includes fresh lobster and clam chowder, a lively cultural scene, low crime and unemployment, Portland has become an incredibly desirable place to relocate to.

To boot, Portland has a minor league baseball team, the Portland Sea Dogs (an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox), with a rabid fan base, a brand-new NBA Developmental League team, the Maine Red Claws (affiliated with the Boston Celtics and Charlotte Bobcats), and a minor league hockey team, the Portland Pirates (affiliated with the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres).
