Indiana, the 19th state admitted into the United States, is known for its hospitality and a state-wide love for hoops. Bordered by Michigan to the north, Ohio to the east, Kentucky to the south, and Illinois to the west, Indiana is the 16th highest populated state in the nation. Although Indiana has one of the nation’s higher state populations, it is on the country’s lower end of land area, at 38th in the U.S. Indianapolis, home of the Indianapolis 500, is the capital of Indiana as well as its largest city.
Other Hoosier cities of note include Fort Wayne, Evansville and South Bend, the latter of which claims home to one of college football’s classic programs, the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish. With its humid climate, Midwestern hospitality and relatively low cost of living, thousands of families choose Indiana every year as their new home to relocate to.
