Noise Out of Illinois

Illinois has been the embodiment of the Great American Midwest for decades. Known as “The Land of Lincoln” for being President Lincoln’s home from the age of 21 till he was elected to the White House, Illinois was the 21st state admitted into the United States. At that time, President Lincoln resided in the state’s capital city, Springfield, Illinois, a city of over 115,000 residents currently.

With help from Chicago, the state’s largest city and the third-most populated city in the nation, Illinois is the fifth most populous state in the country. Nearly two-thirds of the state’s residents live in the northeastern corner, where Chicago and its suburbs are situated, an area where more families relocate to each year. Illinois is bordered by Wisconsin to the north, Lake Michigan to the northeast, Indiana to the east, Kentucky to the south and southeast, Missouri to the south and southwest, and Iowa to the west and northwest. Like much of the Midwest, Illinois residents are accustomed to a climate consisting of hot, humid summers and cold winters.
