One of Alaska’s most famous traditions is its annual Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. During this extreme test of endurance, mushers and teams of up to 16 dogs race across the state for a chance at glory. The Iditarod race begins in Willow, Alaska and ends a whopping 1,161 miles later in Nome, Alaska. It usually takes the teams between eight and fifteen days to finish the race. Unfortunately, the teams must endure the harshest of Alaska’s brutal weather during the trip, including whiteout-inducing blizzards, sub-zero weather and wind chill temperatures at -100F.
Even if you're not thinking about racing, Alaska is still an excellent state for a relocation. Interested parties should contact Alaska Moving Companies. With North American Van Lines moving companies, you'll have the best in the business at your side.
