Know Your Nebraska

Despite a variety of interesting cities and fun activities and events, Nebraska is most likely known for one thing nationwide: corn. That’s because the state’s most famous school, the University of Nebraska, are known as the Cornhuskers. On top of that, Nebraska’s state nickname is “The Cornhusker State.” The 37th state admitted to the Union, Nebraska is a Great Plains state that is quite large: it is 16th in the nation in land area.

Nebraska is bordered by South Dakota to the north, Iowa and Missouri to the east, Kansas to the south, Colorado to the south and west, and Wyoming to the west. Despite its size, Nebraska is not filled to the brim with residents; it is 38th in population and 43rd in population density. Omaha is Nebraska’s largest city, while Lincoln, home of the aforementioned University of Nebraska, is the capital city.
